DeNami Design Kraft and Gold Birthday Card

This week for DeNami Design Team is all about neutral colors or monochromatic cards. I decided to go with a neutral color and use kraft paper. Neutral colors are great because the card can be specific or for anyone. I like kraft paper because you can make it as colorful or neutral as you want and still create a great card.

The base of my card is kraft paper. In my stash, I found some paper that is kraft with gold foil polka dots that I had purchased Michaels last year. I decided that this would be wonderful for this card and it helped me with designing the card. The next layer is another piece of kraft paper that I heat embossed with gold embossing powder because I don’t have any gold paper. You can use any gold embossing powder for this project. The only one that I have is again from Michaels. For the top layer, I stamped the Elegant Floral Vine stamp and embossed it with the same gold embossing powder as the layer below. The sentiment that I used is the Small Happy Birthday and I heat embossed with white embossing powder. This card is a quick and simple card that you could easily change for other occasions. Below is a list of supplies that I used along with links where you can purchase them. Enjoy!

DeNami Design Mimi Wedding Card

Weddings are such a special day for the happy couple and giving them a thoughtful and beautiful card for their wedding day is a great way to show them that you love them and are happy for them.

Wedding-1601-1

The card that I made is simple yet beautiful and great for a bridal shower or wedding day. First, I stamped the Mimi Bride on white cardstock and colored her in using Copic markers and I did a little shading to add some depth and dimension to Mimi. Next, I die cut her with a stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamps because I wanted the stitched edge around her. After going through my large stash of paper and cardstock, I found a very pretty pearlized rose pattern paper. I cut it to cover the front of an A2 card and adhered it using my Tombow tape runner. After that, I adhered Mimi to card with part of the right side hanging off the card and I trimmed the part that was hanging over. For the sentiment, I stamped Congratulations on white metallic cardstock and die cut it with a banner die from Lawn Fawn. The banner was adhered to the card with Scotch foam tape to add some dimension. To add a little sparkle, I placed three white glitter enamel dots that I got at Michaels in the top left corner of card.

I hope that you enjoyed my card today. Below is a list of supplies that I used, along with links where you can purchase them. Enjoy!

DeNami Design Monster Birthday Card

Hi Everyone!

I always feel like birthday cards for boys are little harder than ones for girls. This week I made a birthday card for boys using Happy Monster Party and layering 2 border stamps to create my background. I have to say that this one of my favorite boy birthday cards that I have created!

hbd-1610-1

To create the background, I used the Three Line Border and Stitched Border stamps to create a fun plaid background. The colors for background are Sunflower, Love Letter, Summer Sky, and Freshly Cut Grass dye inks. I chose the colors to coordinate with the monsters. The monsters were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in with Copic markers. Next, I cut out the frame using the Frame in Frame die set from Taylored Expressions and the monsters using the same die. The die creates both a frame and the panel so I used both the panel piece for the monsters and the frame that it cut out of the white cardstock. I ran the die through again with the red polka dot pattern paper to create the red frame. Next, I adhered the red frame using Tombow Liquid Glue to the white cardstock frame to add a little dimension. To assemble the card, I adhered the plaid panel on my base and then my frame at an angle on top of that. Last, I placed the monsters in the frame with some Tombow Permanent Tape Runner.

I think this card is so cute and fun to give to a boy for his birthday! I hope that you enjoyed my card today!

DeNami Design Spring Birthday Shaker Card!

Spring is finally here! Yeah! April showers are here and the flowers are starting to bloom, well if you don’t have deer like I do! Haha! For this weeks project the theme is spring and I have been wanting to do a shaker card for a while now and I thought why not now?! Not only is this card a shaker card but I also did watercolor for the card.

hbd-1609-1

To make my card I created my watercolor panel first. To create watercolor panel I used Distress Ink in three colors, which are listed below in the supplies. Next, I die cut the panel with a frame die from Taylored Expressions that creates a frame and the main panel. I stamped happy birthday in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. For the flowers and bugs, I used the Flower Patch and Bitty Bugs stamp sets. I used Lawn Fawns Hippo die ink so that it would be soft on the background. Next, attach the acetate to the frame and then attached Scotch foam adhesive around the frame. After that, I attached the back panel to the card base with a Tombow Extreme Tape Runner and then placed my shaker bits  on the back panel. For my shaker bits I used a selection that I had picked up my local Michaels. Last, I placed I attached the shaker window to the card base making sure that everything was lined up perfectly.
