DeNami Design Sneak Peek #2: Yummy Food

Hi Everyone! Welcome to day 2 of DeNami Designs Sneak Peek Week! Todays theme is yummy food. Nami created some really cute food theme stamps for this release and as soon as I saw the hamburger and fries I knew what I created for my project.

This card is fairly simple and easy to make. The first thing I did was some ink blending on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and used my Distress Sprayer to create the splatter look. Next, I die cut it with Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 2 dies. I stamped the sentiment at the bottom using Versafine Onyx black ink. To line up where I was going to stamp the hamburgers and fries, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to go underneath the top panel and lightly traced circles with a pencil. The hamburgers and fries were stamped in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in with Copic markers. In my stash, I found some polka dot pattern paper and trimmed it down to be bottom panel of my card. I used my Tombow tape runner to adhere the hamburger and fries to the polka dots and Scotch foam tape to adhere the top panel. This card is cute and fun to give to a friend or someone special! See you tomorrow!

DeNami Design Baby Shower Card

Elizabeth here with another project for DeNami Design! This week I thought I would pull out one of my original stamps that I first purchased from her! So I pulled out Mom-to-be Mimi. I love this stamp because it is great to use for a baby shower card.

For my card, I stamped Mimi in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic markers. Next, I trimmed her down and found some lavender cardstock that matched adorable glittery button pattern paper that I found in my stash. I cut down the button paper to be the front panel of my card. For the base of my card I decided to to use kraft cardstock instead of the usual white. Also, in my stash I found some green cardstock that matched the button paper. I cut it into a banner and thought it would be cute with Petit Four Baby stamp set. I stamped those in a Spring Rain dye ink from Simon Says Stamp that was just a little darker than the paper. I placed Mimi on the lavender paper and adhered her to the right side of the card and adhered the banner on the left side of card. I hope that you enjoyed my card this week and it inspires you to pull out some of those older stamps that you haven’t used in a while!

DeNami Design Monster Birthday Card

Hi Everyone!

I always feel like birthday cards for boys are little harder than ones for girls. This week I made a birthday card for boys using Happy Monster Party and layering 2 border stamps to create my background. I have to say that this one of my favorite boy birthday cards that I have created!

To create the background, I used the Three Line Border and Stitched Border stamps to create a fun plaid background. The colors for background are Sunflower, Love Letter, Summer Sky, and Freshly Cut Grass dye inks. I chose the colors to coordinate with the monsters. The monsters were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in with Copic markers. Next, I cut out the frame using the Frame in Frame die set from Taylored Expressions and the monsters using the same die. The die creates both a frame and the panel so I used both the panel piece for the monsters and the frame that it cut out of the white cardstock. I ran the die through again with the red polka dot pattern paper to create the red frame. Next, I adhered the red frame using Tombow Liquid Glue to the white cardstock frame to add a little dimension. To assemble the card, I adhered the plaid panel on my base and then my frame at an angle on top of that. Last, I placed the monsters in the frame with some Tombow Permanent Tape Runner.

I think this card is so cute and fun to give to a boy for his birthday! I hope that you enjoyed my card today!

DeNami Design Spring Birthday Shaker Card!

Spring is finally here! Yeah! April showers are here and the flowers are starting to bloom, well if you don’t have deer like I do! Haha! For this weeks project the theme is spring and I have been wanting to do a shaker card for a while now and I thought why not now?! Not only is this card a shaker card but I also did watercolor for the card.

To make my card I created my watercolor panel first. To create watercolor panel I used Distress Ink in three colors, which are listed below in the supplies. Next, I die cut the panel with a frame die from Taylored Expressions that creates a frame and the main panel. I stamped happy birthday in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. For the flowers and bugs, I used the Flower Patch and Bitty Bugs stamp sets. I used Lawn Fawns Hippo die ink so that it would be soft on the background. Next, attach the acetate to the frame and then attached Scotch foam adhesive around the frame. After that, I attached the back panel to the card base with a Tombow Extreme Tape Runner and then placed my shaker bits  on the back panel. For my shaker bits I used a selection that I had picked up my local Michaels. Last, I placed I attached the shaker window to the card base making sure that everything was lined up perfectly.

DeNami Design & Lawn Fawn: Adorable Little Gift Boxes

Giving small treats is always fun and when you have a cute little box to put them in it’s even better! A lot of DeNami’s designs are perfect for projects like these! You can make these for all kinds of occasions and holidays!

For these projects I used Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Die and Milk Carton Die to create the boxes. The pattern papers are 6×6 pads from Doodlebug that I bought specifically with these in mind. I assembled the boxes using Tombow tape runner. For the images, I picked a couple of different stamps and stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I kept the coloring simple with Copic markers and did not do any shading. To cut out the images I used a scalloped punch and attached them with Scotch foam tape to the boxes. To add a little sparkle and shine I used Pico Embellisher in Shimmer on the balloons. If I would have though of it I would have added it to the ice cream also. These are fun and simple little boxes that you can create in a snap!

DeNami Design: Shake It Up With Gift Tags!

You just wrapped the perfect gift for the birthday party that you’re going to and you need gift tag! You could go to the store and buy one but why do that when we are crafty. Shake things up with a shaker gift tag! You don’t need a lot of supplies, so you can make quickly!

You need a set of dies that nest to create your shaker. I used the two smallest dies in the balloon die set from Simon Says Stamps. You will use the largest die tree times. Once to create the back of the shaker and again for the front with the smaller die nested inside to create the window. Then the last time that you use the largest die is to cut the acetate for the window. You may need to run this through your Big Shot a couple of times to get it to cut all the way around. Adhere the acetate to front to finish making the window. On the back of the of the back piece I used the Small Happy Birthday in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Next, cut Scotch foam tape to go around the window to create the enclosure that will hold all your shaker bits. I place my shaker bits on the back piece and adhere the window to the back my peeling off the tape off the foam tape. I used twine to finish them and give them that nice finishing detail. I hope that you enjoyed my project!

DeNami Design Spring Time Thank You Card!

Spring is coming! I can’t wait for the flowers to start blooming but since I have to wait I decided that I would great my own little piece of spring with a watercolor flower box window card. This was my first time working with watercolors and masking at the same time so there was a steep learning curve! If you saw my sneak peek on Instagram with a lot of fussy cut flowers, this is the card that I created with all those little flowers!

To create this card I stamped the flowers on masking paper and fussy cut them out. I placed all of the flowers on some Tim Holtz watercolor paper where I wanted them and then stamped the window with Archival Black ink. Next, I carefully removed and stamped all of the flowers in the same ink. I was careful to start with the top layer of masks and work my way down. To color the flowers I used a set of watercolors that I purchased from Michaels. After that I watercolored each of the flowers making sure to not to color flowers that were next to each other so that the colors wouldn’t bleed together. I did this with each of the images until everything was colored in. Also, I let each image dry before completely before I would color an image that was next to it. This is what took a while. I could have used a heat tool to dry everything but I chose to let everything air dry. After the coloring was complete, I used a stitched rectangle die to trim down the piece and adhered it to my card front. On the inside of the card I stamped the Thanks a Bunch sentiment in black ink. I hope that you enjoyed my project!

DeNami Design You’re One of a Kind Bunny Birthday Card!

Who doesn’t love a cute little bunny?! I know that I certainly do and that is the theme for this week for DeNami Design Blog. Of course, my first thought was to make an Easter card. That’s the most obvious choice with Easter around the corner. But let’s face it, I can’t beat the Easter Card that I made last week and I was not about to try! I decided I would make a birthday card instead.

I created the background of the card with the Bunny Tail Trio, Dot Border and Stitched Border stamps. I used Lawn Fawns Hippo, Freshly cut grass and Sunflower dye inks on the background. For the main bunny, I used the Bunny with Flower and Medium Double Circle stamp. For the circle, I used the same Hippo dye ink. I kept the coloring of the bunny simple and used Copic markers without any shading. Next, I cut out the bunny using a scallop punch. For the sentiment on the front I used the One of a Kind stamp on white cardstock. The inside of the card is stamped with the Small Happy Birthday stamp in black ink. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks card and it inspires you to create a card for that special person in your life that is one of a kind!

DeNami Design Easter Basket Card

Spring is coming soon! I personally can’t wait for the warm weather and the flowers to start blooming. Spring also means that Easter will be here soon which is this weeks DeNami Design Team theme. I thought to myself that I wanted to do something different for my Easter project this week. So I made and Easter Basket card!

I used the Taylored Expressions wicker pocket die that creates a small basket and when you cut 2 out you can adhere them together to make a card that is basket shaped and you can insert a little tag or card into. For the flower pattern paper I used Doodlebugs may flowers paper to cut out my 2 pieces of the basket. The Doodlebug paper that I used is discontinued but you can use any pattern paper that you like. To create the  insert I used the 2 smallest dies  from Taylored Expressions label stacklets 2 set and stamped the adorable Bunny and Easter Eggs on white cardstock. To stamp the greeting I used the Small Happy Easter stamp and inked “Happy” first and stamped it and did the same thing for “Easter” and stamped it below “Happy”. I kept the coloring simple and did no shading Copic coloring. To add a little glitter shine I used Pico Embellisher on the Easter eggs, which also add a little dimension. On the bunny I added a little detail by using a white gel pen to add white to his eyes and three little white dots on his cheeks.

Below is a list of supplies I used, along with links where you can purchase them. Enjoy!
