DeNami Design Noah’s Ark Shaker Card

Hi Everyone! Elizabeth here with another fun project for DeNami Designs! Todays project is my absolute favorite kind of project! Shaker Cards! I love making shaker cards! They are so fun and easy to make!

For this shaker card I used a gender neutral plaid from Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid 6×6 pack, so that this card can be for someone expecting a boy or girl baby, or even twins. I used a frame die from Taylored Expressions Frame in Frame die set to create the shaker frame and kept the inside piece to use as the background in the shaker, that way I’m not wasting any paper! I stamped Congratulations on the background piece in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. Next, I cut a piece of acetate just slightly smaller than the frame and used a Scor Tape to adhere the acetate to the frame. Then I cut some Scotch foam tape to go around the frame and adhered it the frame making sure that I didn’t leave any gaps in between the foam tape so that the sequins couldn’t escape. I set this aside to work on the ark. I stamped the Noah’s Ark on some white cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I kept the coloring fairly simple with Copic markers. For the zebra, I used a very light grey and very light blue on top of each other and then went over that with the colorless blender to lighten it some more. This gives the effect of some shadow and the zebra still looks white. For the lion, I colored him in a yellow and then for his mane, I used a darker yellow that has hint of orange and brown, and flicked the color on his mane. Next, I fussy cut the ark out and to give it a finished look, I went around the edges, from the back, with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. By doing this from the back, if I slipped then the black would be on the back of the ark instead of on the front! I adhered the ark to the frame with Scor Tape and Zots Bling Dots. To make the card, I adhered the background to a top folding A2 card base with Tombow tape runner after carefully lining everything up. Next, I lay out my Doodlebug sequins on the card and spread them out over the background. I like to place the frame over the sequins to get an idea of whether or not I need to add more sequins and if so which color. Once I have the right amount of sequins, I carefully line up the frame with the background and adhere the frame to the card base.

I loved making this card! I hope that it inspires you create some shaker cards! Until next time!

DeNami Design: Missing You 3D Frame Card

Hi Everyone! Elizabeth here with another cute card for DeNami Design! This week is about adding some dimension to your cards. For my card I went back to my style of keeping it simple and easy!

The dimension on this card is in the frame. To create my card, I first die cut my frame from Taylored Expressions Frame in Frame die set out of pink paper from the Doodlebug Sugar Shoppe 6×6 pack. I then die cut the frame 3 times out of white cardstock and I made sure that I kept the center piece from one of those pieces to do my stamping on. Next, I stamped the Happy Daisy, Happy Flower Pot and Missing You on the piece that I kept in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I kept the coloring simple for the flower and pot and did no shading Copic coloring (see supplies list below for colors). So that the flower and pot weren’t just floating around on the panel, I anchored them by coloring some grey across the bottom and some shading for the pot and flower. I set this aside while I worked on the rest of the card. I trimmed my pattern paper from the same Doodlebug pack down to 4”x5.25” and adhered that to a top folding A2 card base using Tombow runner. Next, I adhered all the frames together using Tombow liquid glue and stacking them on top of each other with the pink one on top. The 3D frame is adhered to the flower pattern paper using liquid glue. Next, I added some liquid glue to back of the panel with the pot and flower and placed it inside the frame. I like to use liquid glue for this so that I can shift it around a little bit before it dries. The key is to put on a small amount of glue, otherwise your cardstock will warp. To finish the card, I used a Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen and added some glitter to the flower. I tried to get a good picture with the sparkle but it’s very hard to capture that sparkle! I hope that my card inspires you to add some dimension to your cards! Until next time!

DeNami Design Mimi Wedding Card

Weddings are such a special day for the happy couple and giving them a thoughtful and beautiful card for their wedding day is a great way to show them that you love them and are happy for them.

Wedding-1601-1

The card that I made is simple yet beautiful and great for a bridal shower or wedding day. First, I stamped the Mimi Bride on white cardstock and colored her in using Copic markers and I did a little shading to add some depth and dimension to Mimi. Next, I die cut her with a stitched rectangle die from Simon Says Stamps because I wanted the stitched edge around her. After going through my large stash of paper and cardstock, I found a very pretty pearlized rose pattern paper. I cut it to cover the front of an A2 card and adhered it using my Tombow tape runner. After that, I adhered Mimi to card with part of the right side hanging off the card and I trimmed the part that was hanging over. For the sentiment, I stamped Congratulations on white metallic cardstock and die cut it with a banner die from Lawn Fawn. The banner was adhered to the card with Scotch foam tape to add some dimension. To add a little sparkle, I placed three white glitter enamel dots that I got at Michaels in the top left corner of card.

I hope that you enjoyed my card today. Below is a list of supplies that I used, along with links where you can purchase them. Enjoy!

DeNami Design & Lawn Fawn: Adorable Little Gift Boxes

Giving small treats is always fun and when you have a cute little box to put them in it’s even better! A lot of DeNami’s designs are perfect for projects like these! You can make these for all kinds of occasions and holidays!

For these projects I used Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Die and Milk Carton Die to create the boxes. The pattern papers are 6×6 pads from Doodlebug that I bought specifically with these in mind. I assembled the boxes using Tombow tape runner. For the images, I picked a couple of different stamps and stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I kept the coloring simple with Copic markers and did not do any shading. To cut out the images I used a scalloped punch and attached them with Scotch foam tape to the boxes. To add a little sparkle and shine I used Pico Embellisher in Shimmer on the balloons. If I would have though of it I would have added it to the ice cream also. These are fun and simple little boxes that you can create in a snap!

DeNami Design Easter Basket Card

Spring is coming soon! I personally can’t wait for the warm weather and the flowers to start blooming. Spring also means that Easter will be here soon which is this weeks DeNami Design Team theme. I thought to myself that I wanted to do something different for my Easter project this week. So I made and Easter Basket card!

I used the Taylored Expressions wicker pocket die that creates a small basket and when you cut 2 out you can adhere them together to make a card that is basket shaped and you can insert a little tag or card into. For the flower pattern paper I used Doodlebugs may flowers paper to cut out my 2 pieces of the basket. The Doodlebug paper that I used is discontinued but you can use any pattern paper that you like. To create the  insert I used the 2 smallest dies  from Taylored Expressions label stacklets 2 set and stamped the adorable Bunny and Easter Eggs on white cardstock. To stamp the greeting I used the Small Happy Easter stamp and inked “Happy” first and stamped it and did the same thing for “Easter” and stamped it below “Happy”. I kept the coloring simple and did no shading Copic coloring. To add a little glitter shine I used Pico Embellisher on the Easter eggs, which also add a little dimension. On the bunny I added a little detail by using a white gel pen to add white to his eyes and three little white dots on his cheeks.

DeNami Design St. Patty’s Day Card

St. Patricks Day is a holiday that is often overlooked. Even in the crafting industry. Lucky for us Nami created some adorable stamps for us to make some great cards and projects. For my card I decided to go with the traditional green theme for St. Patricks Day.

For the card base I used green cardstock and layered it with Doodlebug Happy-Go-Lucky green stripe paper which I cut out using the  Simon Says Stamp Rectangle Stitch die. I used the same green cardstock and white cardstock with Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 die to create the main piece. I stamped the chickie and the clovers in Memento Black ink on the white cardstock. On the top of the green die cut I stamped the clover in Lawn Fawns Freshly Cut Grass dye ink to add a little more interest. I stamped the inside of the card with “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” stamp in Versafine Onyx black ink because it is a great ink for sentiments. I kept the coloring simple using Copic markers and used a Gold Signo pen for the buckle and band on the hat. I hoped that you enjoyed my card for today.

Denami Designs Sneak Peek Day 6!

Day 6

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my blog and Day 6 of the Denami Designs Sneak Peek Week. Todays theme is Sports Owls. I have to admit that I struggled with this one a little bit! I knew I wanted to do something different and not a card.

So, I created a pillow box that you could put gift card in or some treats! To create the pillow box used the pillow box die from Lawn Fawn and paper from one of my favorite companies, Doodlebug Designs. I used the new baseball owl stamp and the small happy birthday stamp from Denami Designs. I punched out the owl using a 2″ scalloped punch.

Day 5

Hi Everyone! Welcome back to my blog and Day 5 of Denami Designs Sneak Peek Week. It’s hard to believe that it has been 5 days already! Time flies when you are having fun! The theme for todays sneak peek is “Somebunny Loves You”.

I decided that I wanted to create a scene using the new bunny stamps and the stump from the woodlands logs set. The flower pattern paper is from Doodlebug Designs and I used a die from Taylored Expressions for the scene panel. To line everything up I used my MISTI. It works great every time! Denami Designs Sneek Peak Day 1!

Day 1

Hello Everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything and I want to apologize. I got a part time job and between that and the Holidays things have been hectic and I haven’t been able to write any posts. One bit of exciting news for me is that I am a Guest Designer for the Denami Designs DT! I am very excited because Nami’s stamps were the first stamps that I absolutely fell in love with. This week are going to be doing sneak peaks of her latest release. Day 1 theme is “Party Owl Night Long”.

For my card, I created a top folding card with yellow cardstock, birthday pattern paper from Doodlebug (another favorite company) and a balloon shaped die from Simon Says Stamp. On the balloon I stamped the Party Owl Trio and Small Happy Birthday with Memento Black Onyx Ink. On the inside of the card I used the Day Filled W/ Happiness stamp in Black ink. To see how I created the card, click on the video below to watch it on YouTube. Don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to my channel.

“Fight Like A Girl” Card Featuring The Crazy Bird Stamps From Tim Holtz

Hi Everyone! Last week I got a special request from a friend for a “Fight Like A Girl” card. I started brainstorming and I couldn’t stop thinking about the Tim Holtz Crazy Bird stamp set from Stampers Anonymous and super heroes. Just one problem, there isn’t any super hero accessories in the Crazy Accessories stamp set. But that didn’t stop me! I decided to make my own accessory and draw on a cape and add some eyelashes to make the bird look more girly. I have to say that I just love my little girl super hero bird! Below is a link to my Youtube video of how I made the card. This is my first card making video so please forgive the pauses!
