Denami Design Sneak Peek Day 5!

Day 5

Hi Everyone! Welcome back to my blog and Day 5 of Denami Designs Sneak Peek Week. It’s hard to believe that it has been 5 days already! Time flies when you are having fun! The theme for todays sneak peek is “Somebunny Loves You”.

I decided that I wanted to create a scene using the new bunny stamps and the stump from the woodlands logs set. The flower pattern paper is from Doodlebug Designs and I used a die from Taylored Expressions for the scene panel. To line everything up I used my MISTI. It works great every time! To see how I created this card, please click on the link below and watch on my YouTube channel. Denami Designs Sneak Peek Day 2!

Day 2

Hi Everyone! Elizabeth here with Day 2 of Sneak Peek of Denami Designs latest release! Todays theme is “Owl Always Love You”.

For my card I created a horizontal card. I used light pink cardstock for the base and three different white and pink pattern papers for the rest of the card. When I saw the Owl Love Birds stamp I knew right away that I wanted to use it and make a Valentine’s Day card! I stamped it in the middle of the Elegant Oval Frame stamp and fussy cut it out (despite the fact that I hate to fussy cut!). On the inside of the card I used the Happy Valentine’s Day stamp in black ink. To see how I created the card, click on the video below and watch it on YouTube. Don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to my channel.

Denami Designs Sneek Peak Day 1!

Day 1

Hello Everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything and I want to apologize. I got a part time job and between that and the Holidays things have been hectic and I haven’t been able to write any posts. One bit of exciting news for me is that I am a Guest Designer for the Denami Designs DT! I am very excited because Nami’s stamps were the first stamps that I absolutely fell in love with. This week are going to be doing sneak peaks of her latest release. Day 1 theme is “Party Owl Night Long”.

For my card, I created a top folding card with yellow cardstock, birthday pattern paper from Doodlebug (another favorite company) and a balloon shaped die from Simon Says Stamp. On the balloon I stamped the Party Owl Trio and Small Happy Birthday with Memento Black Onyx Ink. On the inside of the card I used the Day Filled W/ Happiness stamp in Black ink. To see how I created the card, click on the video below to watch it on YouTube. Don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to my channel.

MFT Fall Foliage Thank You Card Using MISTI

Hello Crafty Friends! With Fall upon us I decided that I wanted to make some cards with leaves. I pulled out my Fall Foliage stamp set from My Favorite Things and was inspired to make this card. Also, I thought that this would also be a great opportunity to pull out my MISTI to create this card. You can watch how I created this card on my YouTube channel or by clicking below.

The inks that I used for these cards are Lawn Fawn Dye inks for the leaves and Versafine Onyx Black ink for the greeting. I love using Versafine for the greeting because it is a great ink for detailed images like the fine lines on a sentiment. When you overlap the dye inks you can a little of the image below.

Mama Elephant Thank You Cards Using The MISTI

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. A few weeks ago (more like a month ago) I finally got the MISTI tool that everyone has been raving about! I will be making a set of 5 thank you cards for one of my good friends because she just loves stationery!

I have to say that when I was watching the YouTube videos about the MISTI, I was very excited about all of the possibilities and projects that you could create using this tool. I will be the first to admit that I am not the best at lining my stamps up but I do alright. Since I make multiples of most of my cards, I was excited that I would be able to repeat the same stamp, in the same place every time.  Making multiples would be simpler and faster! What I have found is that it is all true. I absolutely love my MISTI and can’t imagine my life without it. I use for almost all of my stamping projects. I have included a video from My Sweet Petunia that explains the MISTI a lot better!

For todays project I am using the Merci stamp set by Mama Elephant. I love this set because the greetings are large and can be the focal point on the card. Mama Elephant has quickly become one of my favorite brands. Unfortunately, right now this is the only set that I own but I will definitely be getting more stamps from them in the future! For the card set, I laid out how I wanted the card to look. With the MISTI tool there is a pad of grid paper that you can use for this purpose. What I love is that once I came up with the final version I can save the paper and create more of these cards in the future! Below you can see the layout that I decided to go with.

The inks that I used in this project are pigment based inks. What that means is that the ink stays on top of the paper and usually needs a few seconds or more to dry. I have a larger collection of pigment based inks which is why I chose to use them. When I designed this layout I used a black pigment ink for the greeting but then I decided to use a grey pigment ink to lighten the design. You can also use dye based inks which will dye the paper. Below is a video from Jennifer McGuire where she uses dye inks with a layering stamp set from Altenew.

The first stamp that I used from the set was the “Merci beaucoup”. I did this because I knew that I wanted the flowers and leaves to overlap my greeting just little bit. Next, I stamped my flowers and then I finished with the leaves. These cards will make a great gift for that person in your life that loves stationery.

I hope that you enjoyed todays project!
